A Little Bit About Me...

First, I would get to know the client personally (parents, siblings, friends and interests). Next, I would work with the client to identify the problem areas and create a list ranking them from major to minor. With each session, we would work through the list only advancing when the client was comfortable with the subject matter. Patience and understanding with a commitment to education is my teaching style.
I have 17 years of professional experience in the personal lines insurance industry. Through two corporate acquisitions, I have held many analytical positions in my career. I started as a Rate Analyst moving on to Actuarial Analyst, Corporate Accountant, Measures and Planning Analyst, Field Underwriting Consultant. I have an MBA from Illinois State University. I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Throughout those years I've encountered many special needs students and many bright students, tutoring in subjects ranging from English, Math, Social Studies, to Computer Science.
I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
