I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Since my elementary years I've always been a student driven to succeed and pursue higher levels of education. Recently I've graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. I can also speak and handle any questions in Spanish at an intermediate level. Furthermore, I served as a junior mentor in the CADS (Center for Alcohol and Drug Services) after school program, tutoring and leading the kids in organized fun.
