A Little Bit About Me...

I will be graduating high this coming summer of 2013. I have been in Ready, Set, Teach which is a program where we were sent out to an elementary school and was assigned a class and we taught a lesson. I have been teaching Sunday school every Sunday for the last couple of years. I had a teaching job at an after school program at an elementary were we taught a lesson, took the children to group activities, and gave them a snack.

Taught my own children phonics, constructed science fair experiments and writing assignments. Tutor: Tutored a child with learning disabilities in Social Science, Language Arts, Spelling and History.
My teaching style is thus: First engage the student about what subject he likes, engage in small talk and then tutor the assignments. ALways praise the student and point his or her strong abilities and plus tell the student they can do this assignment. First I let the student try the assignment and then I will jump in and help.

I am a student of history and believe that knowledge acquisition comes from interest and enthusiasm on the part of the learner. As an Graduate of Applied Science of Industrial Instrumentation. I was extremely driven to accomplish a long sought after goal of completing college while shift working and raising a family of four sons all on my own. I graduated Phi Theta Kappa, National Dean's List, and was offered internship in three different countries. China, Europe and Austrila.
