A Little Bit About Me...

I worked for six years at William King Museum, where I developed and taught art curriculum to students Pre-K through 12 and trained instructive staff in our 12 programs. I served as a traveling classroom instructor in our 14 district service area where my presentations consisted of one-half hour of historical/cultural content and one hour of hands-on art. I utilized my knowledge of literature to enhance various art projects. I have worked with young children on their reading skills and in understanding themes in literature. I am competent in grammar and composition. As you may gather from my first undergraduate degree in English literature, I enjoy the written word and am familiar with both American and English literature.

I enjoy helping children master elementary skills that are the building blocks to their reading comprehension and finding ways to encourage them to read more books and to realize the significance of expressing themselves through writing. I enjoy finding the best way that each student learns (visual, auditory, or 'doing'). I write with great enthusiasm to apply for the position of Tutor. I recently graduated from Gettysburg College Magna Cum Laude earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. I have previous experience working as a Clinician/Tutor for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, providing one-on-one instruction to students and implemented programs that provided effective treatment for dyslexia, hyperlexia, autism, and other learning disabilities.
