I'm a native English speaker, and fluent in Japanese. I've studied both on my own, and at two Japanese language schools in Japan. While living there, I went from memorizing vocab and phrases, to seamlessly having conversations in Japanese. While I lived on my own for a short time, I soon moved to a share-house, where I was able to both use and practice my language skills literally every day. I tend to use an immersive teaching style, switching over from using English fairly often during lessons, to communicating solely in Japanese while learning.

I feel very strongly that every child has the ability to learn when they are given the right encouragement. While working on my Japanese minor I quickly discovered that finding a method that works for an individual student is the most important part of studying productively. I feel that my fresh, creative outlook will supplement the classroom experience well and offer alternative methods to learning that may not be available at your child's school. While I have not tutored academically in the past, I have taught my community's equivalent of the DARE program to fourth grade classes for two years and have also taught art lessons to children of all ages.

I have more than 15 years of first-rate, proven, high-quality teaching experience at the college level, as well as a very successful history of helping students out in one-on-one tutoring experience (including online homework help). I have taught courses ranging from Chemistry, Math, French, etc. to students of various backgrounds, and I have always managed, without fail, to meet them where they are and help them until they 'get it' and are more than satisfied with my help.
