I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. I have an MS in physics and a BS in mathematics. I have twenty years tutoring students in math and physics, starting while working on my BS. I taught trigonometry as a teaching assistant at portland State University while a graduate student. I also taught at Chemeketa Community College as a supplemental instructor, holding group tutoring sessions for basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry, for classes that used these subjects as part of the course.

As an older student I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education, hardly ever missing a class. I earned my bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, taking mainly writing and literature. In my master's program I did a lot of writing classes and I focused mainly on publishing, and subjects such as editing and grammar. Instead of taking Spanish, I took statistics.
