I have 8+ years of tutoring experience. My experience includes working with 8th graders, high schoolers, college kids, and adults. I've tutored from algebra I to precalculus, and have lots of experience tutor chemistry and physics as well. All of my students have shown improvement gradewise and had a better understanding. My goal is to give the student a solid base so that in the future, they don't need a tutor anymore. Problem-solving/self help is what I try to teach every student along with the actual material covered.
I am very patient and can explain every topic a number of different ways. Whether something needs to be proven numerically or with a picture, I can cater the right style to the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the best way for someone to learn something is through application and repetition. As both a tutor and youth lacrosse coach I have had success by teaching my students how to approach problems rather than simply giving them answers. I am easy going, energetic, very passionate (especially when teaching calculus and physics), and engaging. In most cases it takes only a few sessions and students are having fun. I believe that most students can understand mathematics with a proper explanation. For example, the order of operations is usually presented to students without explanation for its existence. This gives the false sense that it is an arbitrary rule. I enjoy sharing my understanding to students, but I also enjoy providing a role model for my students. If I show compassion to a students it is almost always reciprocated. Academic excellence is a virtue but so is being a kind and caring person. I like to spread this through my teaching style.
