Spanish is one of my top subjects! I began studying Spanish in middle school and have never stopped. Spanish was my second major in university. My love for the language has brought me to live in Costa Rica, where I have been living since 2012. I am currently pursuing my Masters in translation at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, a requirement for which is fluency in both English and Spanish. Being a nonnative speaker, I can offer you my insight into how I learned and mastered the Spanish language, especially the tricky grammar.

Fall 2011 - ESOL Tutor - I met weekly with an ESL peer in my university to teach her English communication skills, specifically in the area of articulation and language. July-November 2012 - English Tutor - Through Universidad Nacional's Exchange program, I met weekly with university-aged peers to strengthen their English conversational skills and grammatical concepts. I taught four individual students. 43 hours completed. As a parent, I teach in some way everyday. I have learned patience and the importance of repetition and positive feedback. I would love to teach other children, or high school students, about the Earth and its complicated, but awe inspiring processes. As the oldest of five children I not only love children, but I have a life-time long experience with them.
