After that I spent several years in a FT professional touring performance ensemble that performed for all ages in a variety of settings across the Midwest. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy helping people learn English. Have a lot of understanding and compassion of what it means to learn a foreign language, as I have learned two. I have also lived as an expatriate in a foreign country, so I understand a lot of what the expatriate has to go through in a new land. I am used to teaching all types of learners, from slow to fast, and am able to adjust. During the past 5 years I have been a substitute teacher for Kentwood Public Schools and Excel Charter School in both elementary and high school classes. This experience has given me insight into what I feel is necessary for students to prepare for the future i.e college, skilled labor, technology etc. I have administered tests to evaluate pupil progress and issue reports to parents to discuss student progress and any problems that may exist.
Students that I have tutored/mentored have become very successful in their life after graduation from H.S./College. I know that if a child can read, and understand what they read, they can be successful in life. That is my first priorty in the education of a student.

A Little Bit About Me...

In my career in automotive plastics, I coached or taught manufacturing principles to improve quality and efficiency. My demonstrated success is due in part to my efforts to educate and coach operators, engineers and managers to understand the basic principles of chemistry, math and engineering to buy into a logical course of action. I have also greatly enjoyed my voluntary participation as a youth football coach. I have coached 8-12 year olds the last 5 years. One of the reasons that I'm interested in tutoring is that, although I love working with individual students and small groups, I am less interested in classroom management, discipline and the rest of the duties that come along with substitute teaching.
