A Little Bit About Me...

What I like about helping people learn more and do better in communicating and expressing themselves is that it gives me a chance to "give back" all that I know in a special way. I teach people how to do things through a method of "learning by doing" with practical (and many times personal experience) exercises. Writing and communicating is a craft that anyone can do if they understand how to "map out" their thoughts and ideas in an outline and then "build from there" filling in the gaps.
I have more than three decades of experience managing and working in marketing, PR, communications, the web, and media relations. I have always enjoyed sharing what I have learned with others. My ability to simplify seemingly difficult concept coupled with my sense of humor, makes me an excellent choice for tutor. I want every student leaving my lectures to be more confident in themselves and strive harder. I believe all children want to learn as long as the learning process is fun. My goal is to provide what i call focused fun.
I volunteered my services as an IT Consultant to DSBI (Dream it, See it, Be it) Academic Achievement Services/ City of Modesto to assist the impoverished locals get needed education. My work included tutoring staff and students in basic math, science and computer education. I also trained staff in maintaining computer software. I have a Bachelor Of Science in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Mathematics.
