I believe in the "practice makes perfect" approach, especially when it comes to math, science, and language study. That said, I also believe that practice can be interesting, fun, encouraging and reinforcing. I would hope to help a student figure out how to learn and approach new challenges with confidence and enthusiasm. Sometimes what a child needs most is to simply understand that he or she is capable of achieving. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent student, I am very familiar with what it feels like to be in the position a lot of the students are in right now. At the same time, I understand the best method about how to approach understanding the material in the easiest manner possible. The key is patience and practice. I firmly believe the best way to teach is to attempt many examples, rather than strictly lecture. If a student can see the pattern inherent in many of these problems, it makes understanding the initial concepts much easier. My main goal is not solely to have these students enjoy my tutoring, but to be able to provide a fun atmosphere in which they can effectively learn the material and gain an appreciation and excitement for the subject material.

I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. Physics is my forte and I love talking about and teaching the subject. I am especially helpfull to students challenged by word problems.
