Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher

I have been teaching dance for the past nine years in styles of ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, modern, and tap. I have worked at various studios, camps, elementary school programs, youth companies, high school dance teams, and have taught private lessons to students ages 10-adult in and around the bucks county area. I currently dance professional with a jazz based company called Project Moshen Dance Company in Philadelphia and was a previous Vixen dancer for the Philadelphia Fight Team and a company memeber of CoExist Dance Company. As a student who has dabbled in so many areas, it is easy for me to assess when a teacher/professor is not explaining a concept in a method that helps the students. In all my years of teaching, I came to the realization that every child is different . When it comes to teaching, I like to learn a little about the child first. Then once I know everything I need to know, I go by what interests the child and I use that to teach them . Although sometimes it is not as simple, I do what ever it is that I have to do to ensure that the child is learning .
I've been working with children since the day I got my first job. I don't know if it is the fact that I am the oldest of 6, or if it is just in my blood to teach . My first job was at a very small day care that consisted of about 14 kids, ages 1 to 12 .
