I believe that applications to everyday life should be stressed if a tutor/teacher is to pique the interest of their student(s). Rather than stressing rote memorization, I believe it is more important to relate overall concepts in a "partnering" style. It is important to remember that one of the cornerstones of teaching is making the subject matter interesting and relevant to the student's experiences. I believe it is also important to focus on a student's strengths rather than their weaknesses. As in many areas of life, teaching also requires patience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a broad background in the Sciences and Mathematics. In my Teacher Education program, I majored in Science and Mathematics education for both middle and secondary schools. Prior to that, I attended community college to take courses in Computer Technologies and Business Administration, prior to that, courses in Science and Legal Studies, with a background of a BSN in Nursing and the Sciences that were prerequisites to that. I have worked in teaching and in research. In my latest secondary education teaching experience, I worked with students of varied ages and academic strengths and was able to teach both comprehensively.
