Learning's only effective if it's fun.

Thanks for reading my profile. I have tutored French and Spanish at my community college. I have conducted "baby groups" for children 6 mo. - 1 yr in a multi-lingual center for children where I worked in Moscow for three years. I have taught groups of adults English as a Second Language at Inlingua language school in DC. I have taught middle school Russian and Critical Thinking, and college first year Russian while in graduate school. I have worked with children ages 4-10 one-on-one in their homes on a freelance basis, during which time I managed multiple clients and did this full time for an incredibly satisfying profession. Teaching young people and seeing them succeed is such a reward. Many students find the conventional school setting difficult and work with greater success in a one on one setting. Getting to know the student and his or her learning style along with some background enables a tutor to create an atmosphere where the student will be most successful. A Little Bit About Me...

With a wide range of experience in the teaching field, I am able to provide a learning environment to students with differing learning modalities. My approach challenges students and adults to rise to their potential academically.
With a master’s degree and two bachelor degrees, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in the education field. I was the first Wellness Coordinator hired in one northern school district, allowing me to relate with both students and teachers at a state and national level. In addition, I tutor ESL/ELL students as well as students preparing for required state and national based tests. I am currently in the process of transferring my teaching certificate from one state to another, while substitute teaching and tutoring students.
