I begin teaching each tutee by first observing their own approach to studying, listening to their explanations and questions about the material, and indentifying their strengths and deficincies with respect to knowledge of the subject. A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to work with kids all my life. I love the way that they learn and think, and how different it is from adults. I studied Biology at Warren Wilson College in hopes of becoming a high school biology teacher. While at college, I did over one hundred hours of service tutoring and mentoring high school and middle school students in Buncombe County. Since graduating in 2009, I decided to take a break from school, and figure out where I wanted to go in life. I have been working at a local after school for elementary aged kids. A Little Bit About Me...

In my experiences I have found that children learn in many different ways. Based on this I feel that individualized attention to each student makes them more successful in school, as well as, in many life experiences. Children learn by doing.
