I believe all students can learn. I strive to accomplish this by basing my teaching style upon the learning style of my students. In my classroom I implement discovery and inquiry as an approach to learning. Currently as a reading specialist I focus on individualization because at the secondary level each student has unique needs. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has been something I have done a great deal of my life no matter what path I was on. When I was in nursing school, patient teaching was a strong point of mine. I love children. I am patient, kind and believe in utilizing intrinsic and extrinsic forms of lessons so that children develop a love of learning and see the short term rewards and long term rewards.My goal is to help a student succeed.
I am currently heading for a BS in Elementary Education while I am home schooling my children. I have home school grades 6-11. I have accomplished raising reading levels within 6 months past 2 grades past level. I have tutored and home schooled children outside my own and have been asked to assist children with reading. My shelves are currently equipped with grade K-10 curriculum and I am ready to provide part time and full time education on several subjects or one

After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. During the past two years, I have taught 10 sections of miscellaneous classes, covering 5 different courses. Over the course of the past two years, I've easily had over a hundred hours of tutoring time. In addition to my two math degrees and minor in religious studies, I also have a good background in music theory, piano, and organ.
