I have formal tutoring experience with college students. I have informal tutoring experience with elementary, junior high and high school students through my work at youth shelters. My strength lies in breaking down information to the basics and helping students learn the answers on their own.
I graduated with a BS in Psychology and a BA in Criminology. My areas of expertise are statistics, psychology, algebra, trigonometry, editing research papers and essays, and writing in MLA/APA/ASA format. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is a means to find a student's misconceptions and correct them. I try to do this by engaging the students in conversation, asking them leading questions, or watching them work. I try to build classroom bonds, making communication easier. Once the students feel comfortable, it is easier to get them to talk and share their actual thoughts and ideas (which might be brilliant or flawed).
After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. During the past two years, I have taught 10 sections of miscellaneous classes, covering 5 different courses. Even as a kid, I loved to teach and to learn. And one of the most important things that I've learned is that teaching isn't about asking someone to remember facts; instead, it is about giving them tools to help them think so that those facts mean something.
