I have taught for four years from Kindergarten to Third Grade. I was responsible for teaching math, reading, english language arts, social studies, science, phonics, and handwriting. Besides teaching at the Elementary level, I was the Gifted Coordinator for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th. I have made accommodations to fit the needs of each student and use enrichment to help students learn to their highest potential. It definitely is important to combine styles. I use direct instruction, as well as guided instruction, and groupwork. It is also important to get to know your students and their specific learning styles. It is helpful to tap into their multiple intelligences and to present information in multiple ways.
