A Little Bit About Me...

My preferred method of teaching is use of visual aids and examples. I have an extensive background in the computer industry. I have worked at many client sites where I was designated as the on-site trainer for different types of computer software for the staff. I was selected because of my ability to adapt to any situation quickly and for being capable of explaining based on the level of understanding of the person I was training.
I have more than 29 years in the computer industry with fortune 100 companies using various types of computer software. I have provided group and one-on-one training for vendor applications, computer coding, and office based software. My experience is inclusive of training in the use of databases, such as, Microsoft Access. More About This Tutor...

I graduated from WKU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and during this time I worked at an elementary school during their after school program helping tutor and supervise the children. After I graduated, I substituted for several school districts in mostly elementary grades, but I also worked in middle & high school. I am currently working half-time as a reading intervention teacher. My strongest subject is math and english.
I believe it is very important for children to learn to enjoy the process of learning. Every child learns and relates to new information differently, so teachers must use appropriate teaching strategies to ensure the success of their students. My goal is to help students to make better grades, but teach them HOW to learn where they can become independent lifelong learners.
