Early Childhood Education Major Experienced in Tutoring

I have experience in tutoring and small group instruction in elementary regular ed, inclusion, and special education classrooms (including speech). Throughout my undergraduate, I have had many hours of field in experience in 2nd grade regular ed and inclusion classrooms and elementary special ed and inclusion, including speech. I have lead small group instruction in varying subjects, assisted in reading and reading comprehension, test prep, and study skills.
I believe in structured education while leaving plenty of room to facilitate learning through creativity and exploration. All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student. Education cannot be mass-produced. One style does not fit all. Reading is extremely important to the success of a student. Education is the most valuable tool and weapon to get out of poverty; and it is something no one can ever take away from you.

I was driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education based on my own families background and my own. Because I was overlooked it gave me the desire to help those that seemed mostlikely to not succeed. I earned a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education while working full time and being a full time mom. I went on to earn my Masters in Education and Psychology/Counseling.
