I have been writing for my whole life, and have a love of the art that is description. Since Mich of humanity's understanding is based on metaphor, description and its subtleties is a key part of any writing process, be it creative or instructional.My favorite form of writing is creative, however I also enjoy writing essays and other pieces based on fact. My teaching experiences range from being the head teacher in a Montessori toddler classroom to being an eighth grade LEAP Acceleration teacher in a middle school. My most recent teaching experience was teaching second grade. I have taught fourth grade language arts and math classes. When teaching in the LEAP Acceleration position, my classes consisted of twelve to fifteen students and I taught all core subjects. I worked for 11 years in Virginia as a paraprofessional in the school system, originally doing strictly homebase work with handicapped children, then moving into the schools. I worked with middle school children faced with a wide range of disabilities and disorders, including ADHD, Downs, emotional issues and hearing impairments.
