While pursuing a double degree from the University at Buffalo and working part-time, I worked in peer tutoring groups for Latin and writing. A Little Bit About Me...

Experience in the study of British and American Literature, also have made a study of History in America and Britain as well during undergraduate coursework. During my Master's I studied British Literature and was a teaching assistant. During that time I spent two years teaching composition and argumentation at Bowling Green State University to cover college level essay writing which required both classroom and individual tutoring outside of class. Subjects for that course included a wide array of topics with a focus more on structure and the strength of the student's argument than the content or theme of the paper. Old Soldier who likes teaching English

I told my students there was no "wrong" way to present class material. They were told they would be videotaped & critiqued by their class members..BUT their presentation would be on their military specialty (eg. a Motor Pool SGT would do a class on vehicle maintenance)..thereby increasing the "comfort level" of the presenter & enhancing the knowledge of the class. The students would be taught to affirm each other & give each other positive "feed-back".
I taught for 9 yrs at the 1159 US Army Reserve Forces School. I helped soldiers get promoted to SSG, SFC, & MSG by providing them with skills in writing correspondence, public speaking, lesson planning & class preparation for delivery in both a classroom & tactical (field) environment. I also provided remedial training for soldiers needing additional work in writing,lesson planning & class presentation.
