I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.

Learning can be fun!!

I love learning and teaching alike. My first teaching experience was in high school when I helped teach inner city children how to swim. Following high school, I earned a bachelor's degree in genetics at UC Berkeley, during which time I worked as a teacher's assistant for a genetics professor. While in medical school in Hungary, I tutored Hungarians in English, and medical students in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and biophysics. I completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine in the United States. As a senior resident I was responsible for teaching and supervising junior residents and interns. Although I currently work as a freelance science writer, my love of teaching has led me to continue tutoring (mainly math to middle and high school students) over the years.
When tutoring, I strive to make lessons engaging, effective and enjoyable. Specifically, I tailor ... read more

My teaching style depends on the indivual and his/her learning abilities. I believe that anyone can learn a subject if they are moviated and consistant in doing homework and asking quetions.

A Little Bit About Me...

My initial interest was terrestrial and behavioral ecology from a course in wildlife management I attended in Kenya, East Africa, with The School for Field Studies. After Kenya, the majority of my work experience and interest shifted to marine sciences, conservation and fisheries management. I started out as an intern/naturalist onboard a whale watcher where I gave guided talks to the public. Following my masters, I was a National Marine Fisheries Observer under the NMFS/NOAA office at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, collecting data for use in management of gillnet and trawl fisheries out of Gloucester, MA. After spending time around the cold waters of the northeast, I decided to move down to the Caribbean after accepting a job as assistant manager/environmental education coordinator for groups ages 6-40 at Virgin Islands Environmental Resource Station in St John, USVI. I really enjoy teaching and working with children of all ages. I know that children can excel at anything and we all have different learning styles. Co-partnering with parents is critical to success in their child(ren) education. Everyone should have the opportunity to succeed and should be provided the tools and the means to do so. I firmly believe this. Encouragement and enrichment is important. Not to mention a nurturing environment. I greatly feel that my job in life is help with passing on my knowledge to help others.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a parent volunteer tutoring elementary children for over 13 years. I did a long-term sub for a middle school charter school in 2008-2009 and implemented a tutoring progrma for the students who need extra support. I have worked with students from preschool to middle school through-out my teaching and volunteer career.
Working in volunteer capacities through various avenues I have been inspired to reach to higher education. I want to share the many things I have learned with the students in the Valley. I want to inspire students to seek higher academic learning goals. Motivating students to open avenues of literacy is my desire. I have spent many hours in volunteer capacity working with some of the excellent staff of the Hemet School District. Educating the students of today takes dedication, motivation, and a devotion to the students of this Valley. I possess those ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love Math, and I would love to have the opportunity to teach children and adults especially students from k-12th grade who are struggling in Math. My teaching style would be to teach Math as simple and understandable as possible. I would also make my teaching style to be fun but my priority is to tutor students to be successful in their education.
I graduated from University of California Riverside and received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Not only I gain more understanding in Math, I also spent most of my time with my fellow classmates helping each other for our Math assignments in college. During the spring 2010, I tutored one student who is struggling in Algebra 1 and helped her pass the class.
