A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. Watching a student light up after learning how to do something is the greatest thing for me. I believe children can learn and be successful but each in different ways. I believe we as teachers must use differentiated instruction to help all students learn. My students learn immediately that I care about them and desire for them to be successful learners. I ask them to do their best in everything they do and believe in themselves. We celebrate even the smallest achievements in my class. Learning can and should be fun with just a little imagination on my part. I believe we can help all students achieve if given the appropriate environment, tools, and experiences.

Spanish and teaching have always been passions of mine that I have been fortunate enough to make a career out of doing and using both. I have a bachelor's degree (BA) in Spanish with a teaching certificate and I am currently working on my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught for six years in the Northern Virginia area, Washington D.C. and in Independence, Missouri. I have also tutored students in Spanish of all levels, taught Spanish 1 and 2, as well as English as a Second Language.
Students have described me as a very caring and kind educator. I take the time to explain how and why things are different in foreign languages.
