Helping students to Become Life Long Learners

I have worked with many different ages of children as a tutor and volunteer. I worked for the America Reads program at IUPUI while I was working on my degree. I was a reading coach and was in charge of working with elementary students that struggled with reading and comprehension. I also volunteered as a reading coach for the HOSTS program at Garden City Elementary School. Having two wonderful elementary teachers, I was inspired to become a teacher. I graduated in 1988 with an Elementary Education degree. I began my career as a teacher's aide but soon decided to be a stay-at-home mom to my two children. In 1994, I began to home teach my three children. I graduated my youngest in 2008. In 2004, I substitute taught for two local school districts. In spring 2008 I renewed my teaching license.
