I have been researching the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets because I plan on using them as a base for the children that I work with at Community Action Duluth through the Circles of Support program. After getting my degree in Printing/Desktop Publishing/Graphic Design, I ran my own successful business for 11 years. I am an international student and since I came to UMD tutoring and mentoring became my favorite occupation. I have been tutoring students in a variety of classes of different categories. My tutoring history starts in my high school. I was good at most of my classes and very often helped my friends when they struggled. When I got to UMD, the same story continued. If a student is learning new material or does not understand the way something was explained I will try to come up with an alternative method.
