My comments on tutoring Math : I formerly tutored intermediate algebra at Ohio University Chillicothe and have professionally tutored junior-high and high-school math as well.

I have professionally tutored Math and English as an employee of Ohio University, in a private junior-high and high-school academy, and on an individual basis. I taught a semester of Elementary French at Ohio University in Athens. I am always willing to tutor any subject, but my greatest academic strength lie in language learning. English has long been my strongest subject, and I am fluent in French as well (please see the comments in my subject listing). Excellent, Engish-1st-Language Math, Science & Music teacher

I am a laid-back, personable and practical instructor with a knack for simplifying math terminology down to everyday language, skilled at translating what appears to be a complicated concept into it's most basic, understandable form. I attempt to explain why something works the way it does because a student having that understanding will help him or her retain and be able to use the concept. Substitue teacher and esl tutor for the past 4 years. I worked with various classes from Algebra to IEP classes and ESL, from Science to Social studies and everything in between. I taught classes and did not hand out worksheets. My rules in class were, you dont waste a class period. I used litle tricks to make sure they did not waste time and actually learned from me. My students often come up to me when they see me in public to say I was their favorite sub. I started off in Art Education as a major but left to go into Marketing. The IEP classes and learning disabled classes allowed me to work one on one with students which I enjoyed.
