I'm a warm, dedicated person that enjoys to learn and teach.

I worked for Project Transformation through SMU. I tutored high risk and underprivileged children in Oakcliff with after school homework help. Their ages ranged from 5-12 years old. I along with my fellow tutors also provided extra intellectually stimulating activities when they finished their homework such as future planning and education regarding different cultures.
I provide as much one on one attention as possible. I provide examples, write out explanations using the board, and try to help the child progress without giving them the answer.

TEAS and HESI Expert, ACT, SAT, and much more!

I am a full time Tutor with 11 years experience. I specialize in standardized exams, particularly the TEAS, HESI, ACT, SAT, and GED. I have been working with standardized secondary exams, math, and science for the last 8 years- classroom teaching, curriculum writing, and tutoring (both in person and online). I absolutely love working with this material, and helping individual students find their best strategies and achieve their goal score! I begin with standardized testing strategies. I assure my students have a solid understanding of the way their test is written, the types of questions to expect in each section, and the proper approach for each question. I then work to build my students knowledge base in the necessary skill areas. I focus on both the stronger subject areas, and the weaker. Solve ALL your problems with a math tutor!

While completing my degree, I worked in the math department as a tutor. I often had several students with various subjects simultaneously. It was a challenge to constantly switch topics, but I apparently did it so well that I almost had a regular class that showed up every time I was on duty. Several students told me that I explained things on a level they could understand as opposed to the high-level language the professor used. I have also done private tutoring since then.
I generally work through an example while explaining. Then as the student works the problems, I instruct by asking prompting questions with decreasing frequency until the student can complete problems without any assistance.

Professinal GRE&Maths&Physics tutor

I have a Master's degree in Physics and was the top student in the Physics department (won Academic Excellence Award). I am very good at GRE and got full score in the quantitative part ( I can show you the score report). I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in the University for two years with duties of teaching a college level lab and tutoring students with Maths as well as Physics. Through doing these jobs, I learned how to organize a class activity efficiently, and improved the ability of demonstrating academic concepts clearly, especially from the standpoint of beginners. I couldn't feel more satisfied when I saw the smiles on students' faces after I cleared their confusions.
I will guide you to develop the ability of solving problems by yourself rather than merely teach you how to do it!

More About This Tutor...

I majored in math at Ohio state university in Columbus, Ohio. I was a resident advisor and resident manager while in college and tutored several students voluntarily in the resident halls and libraries. I also worked as a part time nanny and helped the children with homework. After graduation I was offered a job at an early learning center in Columbus where I worked as a preschool teacher for 2 years. I tutored throughout my time there during the after school program with elementary level students. I love math and it is a subject that has always been easy for me. I believe many students struggle with math because they don't have a teacher who is able to cater to their specific learning needs. I am extremely patient, encouraging and motivated to help people believe in themselves and their abilities, I know what it's like to feel disappointed, confused, misunderstood. All it takes is one p ... read more
