During my collegiate years, I learned that experience was just as important as obtaining my degree. Therefore, I worked during my college years in a school offering mentoring for young children. For the last two years, I have worked for a young adult mentoring program called Project Respect. I work as a classroom facilitator. My BA in Communications offers me experience in writing research papers, essays, preparing and delivering speeches, and developing creative case studies. Currently, I am working on my Masters in Science, which enables me to teach Science and Math classes, as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe strongly in providing children an opportunity to learn material in a way that will resonate with them personally. Throughout my education leading to a dual Master's Degree I have been able to learn a wealth of information about tailoring information to meet individual learning styles. I have experience in a variety of subject areas such as: math, statistics, reading, writing, social sciences (psychology, sociology, political science). Additionally, I have provided private lessons for multiple students that play brass instruments.
I love working with all children, and all age groups. I am here to help find a unique way to present the material to your child to help them understand it in language that they can understand. I am patient, easy going and considerate. My overall goal is to help young students realize their potential, and instill a love of learning.

More About This Tutor...

I would say that it is a little more toward laid back. Being over 6" tall, stocky, pushing hard, being an ogre, hard-nosed, that isn't going to work for me. People have a tendency to be a bit intimidated and fearful because of my size. I will use it to my advantage if it is necessary, or becomes necessary, but I've found being a little more quiet, reserved and coaxing the student to initiate the discussion is a little better. Ask leading questions, adjust and proceed, based on their response.
I have received degrees in Int'l Business from Lourdes College, as well an Associates Degree in Accounting from Owens Community College. While with the Ohio Air National Guard, participated in the Mentoring program with Township Elementary, Swanton Local Schools for five(5)-years. A Little Bit About Me...

I value education to the highest degree. I graduated in May earning a BA in Business Administration with dual concentrations in Sports Management and Marketing. Although I have only one official year of tutoring experience, I have made a habit of helping other students with course work since high school. I will be attending law school in the fall, and plan to earn by MBA as well. I have tutored students in logic (both introductory and symbolic), but have experience helping students with math (through calculus), French, Chemistry, and other classes.
