Hi, My name is Rob. I graduated from SUNY Oswego summa cum laude with a BS in applied mathematics and a minor in statistics. The plan is to start a Master's Degree in applied statistics at Syracuse University in the fall of 2013. I was trained as a math tutor in 2010 and have since tutored privately, at Cayuga Community College, and at SUNY Oswego. I have also worked as a teaching assistant for an intro statistics course. My experiences tutoring include one-on-one for college algebra, discrete mathematics, and statistics, as well as drop-in math help, with topics ranging from arithmetic to calculus 2. I enjoy sharing knowledge with anyone who can benefit from my experience. I love mathematics, statistics and physics and I attempt to pass that enthusiasm to my students. I understand that there are many people who have trouble with math and science skills and becaus of that I try to explain technical concepts with easy to understand examples before submercing the student into computations that are difficult. I try to relate to the children as best as I can and make the learning fun for them whenever possible. I am easy going, polite and helpful. A Little Bit About Me...

You can preach all you want to children, but if you don't teach, there will be no learning. I believe that children will learn from someone they trust to talk to and from someone who they trust to give them the correct answers to their questions. I enjoy being that person. I love teaching. I always get well prepared before I sit down with someone. A couple of hours of preparation beforehand can make the difference between a tedious, unproductive experience and one that encourages the student and makes the excited about learning. I try to help with sticking points and not to lecture.
