I took German for 5 years from 8th grade through senior year. I am a little rusty now, but am capable of basic understanding. I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable. I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!

I try to devote the day to getting kids interested in learning while covering the topics necessary. I cater to each child's needs and abilities and try to use their strength's to help their weaknesses. For example when teaching foreign language, if a child is not as strong in language as they are in math, I try to use formulas to portray language in a more concrete manner. I enjoy working with children of all ages and find that they enjoy working with me due to the enthusiasm I show them. Since high school I have been aware that I wanted to teach. I am currently pursueing a Masters of Education, and finishing one of my specializations, (French). I have taught for several businesses. I also taught for the Worthington Public School system as a volunteer and teaching asssistant.

I am a doctoral candidate finishing up my third year in the Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University. My major is French, with a specialization in second language acquisition (SLA), and secondary specializations in modern French culture and French cinema. In addition to my studies, I also teach French within the Department. In my five years of experience, I have taught the first four levels of French, in addition to intensive versions that combine two of the levels together. During the summer of 2008, I taught algebra and geometry to 9th- and 10th-graders in the Upward Bound program at Columbus State. Outside of school I have been tutoring for seven years. I have tutored subjects such as math, English, ACT/SAT prep, and creative writing. I recently became involved with interpretation for a high-school student from Haiti for his Ohio Graduate Test (OGT).

I am a very hands on type of educator. I have a lot of patience and I am willing to take the necessary time to make sure that whomever I am working with can understand concepts in terms that they can understand and apply. I make it my mission to ensure that every student that I have taught will always remember what they have learned. I have worked recently at Nationwide Finance as a technical writer, and graduated from Saint Vincent College with a degree in International Business, with minors in German and Finance. I have volunteered at an elementary school teaching history. I have also tutored fellow students at college in Corporate finance, and investment finance. I love helping students learn and would appreciate an opportunity to continue doing so!
