Special Education is one of my top subjects! Autism is my specialized field, but I have taught using ABA in the school system for 5 years and the private sector as a behavioral therapist for the past 12 years with children who have multiple disabilities. My masters is in low incidence disabilities and Autism.

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. In September, I will be sitting for the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). I believe that everyone can learn and everyone has their strengths. We just have to figure out how to let their inner scholar come out to play.

My comments on tutoring Special Education : Master Teacher. Texas certified. Highly experienced. I teach all subjects to Special Needs students, especially ones who are "more fragile" or have been abused. I provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for my students. I really do care.

My teaching style is more the cooperative, reasonable method that prevents problems. Children need to have lots of praise and rewards for their work and efforts. It promotes growth and encouragement. My students will realize that they have to really pay attention to learn and get it. Their study skills will include organizing, focusing and stretching their thinking to higher levels. This way they can go as far as possible for them and reach the moon!
