My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. I worked with families in their homes to develop English reading, writing, and speaking skills. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year. My tutoring began in high school, when I tutored younger students in any subject, from Math to English. I learned to love tutoring. I enjoy helping people to realize their full potential. The most rewarding part of tutoring, in my opinion, is the look on the child's face when something finally makes sense. I have obtained a BBA from the University of Toledo. While in college, I spent a year as a tutor and mentor to younger students, and to help teach a Freshman Orientation course.
