Composition is one of my top subjects! Teacher writing is my favorite thing to teach, as it is a chance to see a student's creativity and uniqueness in their work. As a certified Teacher of English (NJ), I am prepared to teach writing composition at any age. I have worked with beginning readers who are just learning to make letters into words and words into sentence. On the other side of the spectrum, I have taught High School English, and thus am familiar with working with the upper levels of writing. I currently am working with an SAT student who needs help with the writing prompt. I am EXTREMELY detailed when checking a student's essay, and have this notion that a writing piece could only get better and better. Students best learn by doing, by experiencing, and from a variety of experiences that incorporate their five senses. Students learn with different paces and styles. There is no one way for a student to become well-rounded, it is just a matter of providing experiences where the student can learn from the environment. Reading is the Key to Success!

I have worked in the field of education as a teacher for 30 years. I have taught basic skills in foundations of Reading to middle school students. I have also taught all subject areas to elementary school children. The most memorable and most valuable experience in my career was teaching first graders how to read. It takes a trained professional to be able to lay out the framework children need to learn how to read. Reading skills on the first grade level are the most rudimentary and applicable to all grade levels there after.
My teaching style is flexible. I create a lesson plan that is individualized and benficial to that of the student I am tutoring. I adapt and adjust the curriculum to what is of primary importance to my student.

Not all students learn in the same fashion, and that must be considered in planning and implementing lessons. I believe that education needs to be approached in a fun way that coincides with the student's individual interests and learning styles. I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and are two courses short of a minor in Spanish and Sociology. I've always been very strong in the English/Language Arts/Writing areas as well. I am currently a certified substitute teacher and also already do some elementary tutoring. Some of my previous tutoring experience include writing, some psychological statistics and some basic math/language skills.

I am a senior at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey who will be graduating this year. I hold a 3.9 GPA in the Literary Studies program.
