As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have earned a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will pursue a PhD in Family Life Education and Consultation starting during the 2009-2010 school year. I have written a lot of essays and read numerous research papers. For over a year and a half, I have tutored students in English, psychology, mathematics and sciences.
I enjoy teaching students how they learn. It is very important that students know their learning style. My goal is to help them learn how they best retain information. From past tutoring experiences, I have discovered that all people have the ability to learn, but each person learns in their own way. My tutoring method is a direct reflection of the way in which I was taught. Asking questions is strongly encouraged, and I work to help students answer their own questions rather than simply providing the solution.
