Experience Summary
I can teach algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, physics, and engineering classes. My education was in Civil Engineering with a focus on mathematics, and I have over 4 years of experience tutoring at elementary school, middle school, high school, community college, and university levels.
Teaching Style
I follow the "EDGE" method for teaching: Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable. I will explain the material, demonstrate it with an example, guide the student through working through a problem, and then enable the student to work independently while still being available for questions.
I also try to connect what the student is learning to real-life applications, especially ones that resonate with the student's interests. I find that learning is most effective when the students can connect it to what they personally find meaningful.
