Experience Summary
Hello, I am a native Arabic speaker. I have a Master’s in Library and Information Studies and a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies. In addition, I have 12 Language Education credits at the graduate level. I served as an Arabic Language Lecturer at Rutgers University and as a Senior Lecturer of Arabic at Ohio State University for several years. I taught Modern Standard Arabic, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Additionally, I worked as a volunteer and a tutor for more than 20 years. I taught and tutored all levels of Modern Standard and Colloquial Arabic to adults, school students, college students and to students from diverse backgrounds.
Teaching Style
I find myself irresistibly drawn to teaching because it has allowed me to see important human values within the educational system. By developing distinct teaching plans, creative utilization of activities, careful selection of teaching materials, appropriate choice of communicative and effective teaching strategies, my reflections and creative talents is adapted into tangible results in my tutoring sessions. In my instructional career, I have demonstrated the ability to influence student improvement and I will continue doing that through tutoring my new and future students.
