Experience Summary
Reporter, editor, online editor and/or managing editor for daily and weekly newspapers in Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio. I have had the privilege of covering politics, business, government, courts, police and community news; as well as feature writing. Additionally I taught JRN 295 for six semesters at Michigan State University.
Teaching Style
It has been my experience that students (regardless of age) learn best when the lessons can be adapted to things that are relevant to their lives. Journalism takes in every aspect of life, so whether it is 3D printing, gardening or politics learning to apply the tenets of journalism makes one a better writer and thinker.
