I'm qualified to tutor or teach because I have work and trainer experience since 1984. I've worked for the U.S. government, state and local government as well as non profit organizations, and retail industry. I have been privately tutoring and teaching since 1986. I'm qualified to tutor or teach computer programming because I have a certificate in computer programming from Prince George's Community College 2004. I have been privately tutoring and teaching computer programming since 2004. My tutoring method would be to find out what specific computer language they would like to learn. Provide resources they could use with the computer program so they can see it run on a real computer.

Teaching Style

I have a solid background in Math and tutoring kids from birth to college. I prefer tutoring using the "Coach approach" oppose to the "Expert approach". As a coach, I would focus on the student learning. By sharing my knowledge with the student, get my student to do his or her work and thinking and make sure the student engage in deep processing - thoroughly understanding the meaning behind what they're studying. I will ask questions to get the student to think deeply about they're learning. In addition, keep my teaching sessions interesting by learning students preference to learn such as (visual or listening). Then in my teaching sessions coach my student to develop note taking skills (i.e. flash cards) because it helps the student think about and process what he or she is listening to. As a coach, I will help the student develop the skills they need to solve problems and figure it out so that means they can figure it out on the exam or test.
