Proficiency: Expert, and one of my top Subjects!
Throughout my teaching experience I have encountered students of all ages and abilities, from elementary students with reading difficulties to adult learners of ESL. My approach to teaching is tailored to each student's needs because I believe that every student is unique with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. While I enjoyed teaching in a classroom, I love one-on-one tutoring because of the complete attention I can pay to each student. My personality is encouraging, positive and patient, and that has served me well in building relationships at WyzAnt Tutoring and Thumbtack. My role is to help the tutee express themselves, use English correctly, and help expand his or her knowledge base.

My approach to teaching tutees how to read is tailored to each student's level because I believe that every student is unique with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. While I enjoyed teaching reading at High Point Elementary, I love one-on-one tutoring because of the complete attention I can pay to each student. My personality is encouraging, positive and patient, and that has served me well in building relationships at WyzAnt Tutoring and Thumbtack. My role is to help the tutee express themselves, use English correctly, and help expand his or her knowledge base.
Writing
Proficiency: Expert, and one of my top Subjects!
As a writer and editor with over 15 years experience writing for online and offline platforms, I expanded my reach to include one-on-one tutoring because of my additional background as a teacher. As a tutor, I work with undergraduate, graduate and international students on all aspects of the writing process. This encompasses brainstorming, outlining, drafting, formatting, topic sentence work, grammar and ESL concerns. My tutees come from all majors including Psychology, Literature, History, and the sciences. I assist with personal statements and research papers, college essays, high school projects, to name a few. Additionally, as a Magna Cum Laude graduate student with a Master's in Organizational Psychology, I am well-versed in AP, Chicago and APA writing styles. Imparting my knowledge to others is tremendously rewarding but watching tutees develop their own writing skills is even more gratifying.
