Experience Summary

I have been tutoring advanced and financial mathematics, and Actuarial exams for 15+ years and I am an FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries). I hold the CERA designation (Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst) and the MAAA (Member of the American Academy of Actuaries). I have tutored 100s of candidates one-on-one and in groups (2-18 people) over the years in various areas of math and mostly actuarial science across all difficulty levels and students of all ages. From 4.0 math majors in top ivy schools to career changers with no math background. I have helped students with the Actuarial Exams (Probability P, Financial Mathematics FM, IFM/MFE, ALTAM/MLC, ASTAM/C, and FAM) hundreds of times and my specialty is helping people maximize their time and making their study time as efficient as possible to pass. Virtually all people I help go on to pass the actuarial exams on the next attempt and in the process save themselves dozens and hundreds of painful study hours because I provide you with everything possible that you need to pass on first/next attempt. I break down the syllabus in such a way that every topic becomes crystal clear with full fundamental deep understanding of how everything works, where it came from, why it's true, how to use and apply all these concepts on exam questions quickly using endless number of shortcuts and multiple approaches to almost every problem. We can always just have an initial phone call first in which I will provide you tons of general advice and recommendations on how to pass and then you can decide for yourself how you wish to proceed. You can join the sessions remotely, in person, as well as get online recordings of sessions. I can help you with all the preliminary Actuarial exams as well as with job interview preparation and guidance. The first Actuarial session is FREE for everyone.

Teaching Style

Prepare candidates for Actuarial Exams P, FM, IFM/MFE, FAM, ALTAM/MLC, ASTAM/C, SRM, PA, and Interviews. First session is completely FREE. I have helped 100s of actuarial candidates pass the exams on 1st/next attempt while having to study only a fraction of the time that they would otherwise need to put in on their own. I can teach you the material inside out, with intuitive logic deep understanding, endless shortcuts, no formula memorization, and mastery of the concepts. I recommend which study manuals to use, how to best prepare for the exam, and help the student prepare from the beginning to the end teaching you concepts that are not explained in the study manuals. Most importantly, I teach you how to THINK of the solution yourself. Anyone can pick up a study guide or a book and go through it on their own and look at the solutions at the back and nod their head. But the study guide doesn't talk back to you and doesn't tell you what you're doing wrong or how to improve yourself. If you want to be sure to easily pass on your first attempt with no worries and concerns, I will teach you how to approach problems, techniques, timing and approaches that cannot be found in any one single study guide but rather a compilation of 15+ years of expertise.
