Experience Summary
I am a native French speaker looking to continue my tutoring career. In 2011, I volunteered as a French teacher in Stuart Florida for a nonprofit organization called Hispanics in action and I loved it. Giving back to my community is extremely important to me. In 1981, I graduated with a French Baccalaureate in French Literature and Philosophy from the French International School in Bethesda, Maryland. I developed a passion for French culture, reading and writing. As a source of additional income I tutored and babysat French speaking bilingual children of diplomats from 1981 to 1987 in Washington D.C. I moved to Port St Lucie, Florida in 1988 and worked as a French translator at Club Med Sandpiper from 1988 to 1992.I also tutored English speaking adults travelling to France. From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a French translator and accounting assistant for French Canadian property owners at Castle Pines, PGA village Port St Lucie West, Florida. From 2007 to 2010, I worked as a French translator at Snap-On Business Solutions Stuart, Florida, for automobile manufacturers in Canada with an emphasis on French Canadian customers, translating documents, manuals and web training. Tutoring French is my way of sharing the different cultures I experienced as well as emphasizing the importance of being bilingual in this new global world. Languages enable us to communicate with each other and realize how similar we are as a society.
