Experience Summary
I have experience teaching individuals of all ages. I have been working with various tutoring companies since May. Furthermore, I have taught numerous children how to read and do basic math. I have tutored many of my classmates in various subjects including psychology, English, biology, and algebra since high school. I facilitate day treatment groups teaching severely emotionally disturbed children social skills, behavior management, and life skills. These children also have a range of diagnoses such as autism or ADHD. I helped provide group and individual reading instruction for adults with developmental disabilities for a year. During this time I also supervised clients and helped teach arts, theater, and dance classes for adults with developmental disabilities. I used to be a church nursery teacher where I taught basic gospel principles to children 18 months through three years old. I am CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
Teaching Style
I am a compassionate, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to helping individuals reach their unique potentials. My teaching involves having high expectations combined with a high level of warmth and reinforcement. I believe everyone can learn, and everyone has the right to be taught in a way they can understand.

Drama
I took theatre for four years in high school and was involved in many aspects of productions. I was also in Drama Club during those four years. I helped many of my classmates with their performances during that time.I also helped teach a theatre class for adults with developmental disabilities for a year.
ADD/ADHD

I have experience teaching children with ADHD one on one and in group settings. For example, I teach a group of twelve year olds and 6 of the 9 children have ADHD. I have ran this group for a year. I have also taught one child with ADHD how to read. Furthermore, I have education that has taught me how to teach children with ADHD such as educational psychology and pediatric occupational therapy classes.
Special Education
I have experience teaching special needs individuals life skills, academic subjects such as reading, art, dance, social skills, etc. I have worked with children with autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, diagnosed as severely emotionally disturbed, and behavioral problems. I have also worked with adults with developmental disabilities. I am currently in an occupational therapy masters program which is teaching me more ways to work with individuals with special needs.
