Experience Summary
I have been teaching at Ohio Business College for the past 4 years. I have taught several accounting courses at the associate degree level. I tutor students that are having difficulty with class material. I also teach students through independent study, where we cover the same material as a regular course, but without a class lecture.
Teaching Style
I knew after taking a couple of courses when I went back to graduate school in 2003 that I wanted to go into teaching, at least on a part time basis. My daughter is an elementary school teacher, and I felt that I had an influence on her choice of a major. I enjoy seeing students learn. The entire time of seeing them with their first class in accounting until their last class is a fun ride for me. Just seeing their increase in their level of knowledge is a wonderful feeling. The best part of my year is graduation day, when I see students that I taught at least once class graduate. I feel that I was a part of it and that I had a positive affect on their life in at least some way.
