Experience Summary
My qualifications for teaching reading and dyslexia include use of the Orton-Gillingham approach and the Barton Reading System. With specific teaching methods, students who struggle with decoding, fluency, spelling, comprehension, and writing can be successfully helped to overcome these problems. Each student is provided individual lesson planning, according to his or her demonstrated strengths and weaknesses.

Teaching Style
As a tutor, I am able to present material and concepts to students in an easy-to-understand manner. Often, I look for ways to relate to students as individuals and connect the academic studies to their personal interests. I have a personable and upbeat teaching style while challenging, pacing, motivating, and holding students accountable for their learning progress.

My hobbies include swimming, drawing, painting, reading, and spending time with my 5 year old granddaughter.

As a language therapist, my training and experience includes the Orton-Gillingham approach and Barton Reading. It is a joy to provide remediation with students with reading problems/dyslexia. To hear and see the progress of my students is always exciting!
