Experience Summary
My degree in psychology has enabled me to understand all children better, and to work especially well with special needs students. I have experience tutoring students from the ages of 3 to 40+. Subject-wise I have taught Writing, ESL, Spanish and Karate. I have even given self-esteem building talks to grade-schoolers and middle-schoolers. My experiences as a writing tutor, newsletter editor, as well as a Psychology ILP assistant allow me to excel at working with students on all types of writing assignments.
Teaching Style
Every child learns differently. In a world where we corporately streamline everything so that it all comes out pre-packaged and exactly the same we often lose sight of how unique each person is. I find that listening carefully to a child's reasons for having difficulty can help you to better understand how to help them learn. I find that children are often given too little credit - especially children with special needs. All children can be more than the world expects them to be. I just enjoy helping them realize that.
