Experience Summary
I just graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Biochemistry (Medicinal Chemistry) and received a minor in Biology. I have logged over 100 credit hours in ASU’s science departments while meeting the Dean’s List requirements. Growing up, my parents always emphasized the importance of giving back to your community and I also believe a career in science and education is the best way to do that. My hard work and dedication has not just been applied to academia, but also to my extracurricular activities. I have been a leader of a student-run university service organization for the past two years and a member of several others. I have donated my time in spearheading countless organizations and community volunteering events.
Teaching Style
I aspire to be a tutor who is engaging with the student. Teaching AT the student is something I will not do. I will require my students to utilize their own critical thinking and writing to keep them actively engaged. Second, I will facilitate a stimulating, safe learning environment that will keep the students eager and comfortable about their participation. I view myself as being very personable and will encourage students to ask questions, because I know it can be difficult to ask sometimes. Lastly, I want to help students understand how education will prepare them for the future and assist them in planning their careers. I have been around the sciences want to inspire these kids with my love of the sciences!
