I started programming in the BASIC language before Windows the year of 1986 as a hobby. I taught myself the languages C, C++, and PHP. I attended Atlanta Metropolitan where I got formal training in Java my first OOP language, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and COBOL. The last languages I acquired were C# and ASP.NET with MVC.

I earned a BS in Computer Science from Berry College with a minor in Animal Science and one class short of a second minor in English. I just finished a master's in computer science at Rice University (degree to be awarded December 2010) and during my time at Rice I was a TA both for their freshman class as well as for the advanced Operating Systems class. I earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in math. I worked for US Dept. of Agriculture as a methods development chemist which required a knowledge of chemistry, physics, math and statistics as well as high level computer skills.
