Classical violin training, I believe, is more effective than Suzuki. In language acquisition, I can work with a student to simulate immersion in a foreign language, or create building blocks towards thinking like a fluent/native speaker.

I believe that every student learns in their own unique way and at their own pace. I try to cater to that thought when teaching and encourage each student to become his or her own teacher. I think it is important to have a strong fundamental base, but music is more than notes and fingerings. The study of music can give one the power to look at life’s problems through a different lens and give a fresh perspective. Now that I am out of school I see more clearly that there is never an ending point to education. All of those years of studying are not just to pass a test or earn a degree. My comments on tutoring Flute : Was in band and other musical groups in school, played flute and took lessons.

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. I also volunteered at the learning tree center daycare preschool where I helped with story time and art activities. I was a religious education teacher from 2003 to 2004. My comments on tutoring Flute : I have been playing the flute for about 10 years now. When working with the student I will work on their music reading abilities, articulation, and performance. I would like to achieve a mastery of the flute. Every student has the ability, it's about finding their specific way of playing their flute.

I have some experience in tutoring in general. I have tutored fellow students who played the flute, I have also tutored fellow students on reading and spelling. I have a brother with a learning disability so I spent my entire adolescence helping him with his school assignments and helping him with his reading disability.
I work with the students making them feel comfortable, never making the feel overwhelmed but enough work that they are working on the assignments that I give them. There is never any passing or failing, there is only learning. I welcome questions, I actually prefer a student to ask me 800 questions then not understand a topic that we will be covering.

Flute is one of my top subjects! 15 years private teaching experience, Bachelors degree in flute performance, with experience in many different styles of music. I have extensive experience ranging from district and college honor bands and All-State performances, as well as jazz bands, wind ensembles, orchestra material, and woodwind quintets and recitals.

I began tutoring others at the age of 16. After many years of district honor, all state, and college honor bands, I continued with my music education in college, branching out into other instruments, musical genres, and different ensemble types. I also took various lessons with several different teachers on the same instruments to truly get a well rounded experience, while continuing to teach others. After college, I still continue to play and perform with various community and private organizations.
I prefer long tone studies, followed by a chosen etude reflecting the desired skill currently being sought, then application via a prepared solo piece. Generally, success in this area deserves a fun reward, so then I may next "mix it up" a little with a duet or a piece from a different genre.

Education is essential for the mind to grow.

I have helped people with their English-speaking skills off and on and am very skilled in spelling and grammar. I've been learning Japanese for going on three years, as well. I'm aware that it's not a particularly high in-demand language to learn, but I am more than willing to aid in learning it if it is desired. Also, having graduated high school, I have enough knowledge to teach kids about the basics of science, math, and English.
On the whole, I look for a rather creative approach when it comes to learning and studying. I ask that students be skeptical in all they hear and read, so asking questions as a form of studying will be essential. Just reading a book or looking at flash cards for studying purposes can prove to be tedious and ineffective. And putting what's learned in context is always necessary if the subject calls for any everyday application.

I have spent the last three year being a nanny and tutor for kids in a variety of age groups. I have worked with all kinds of kids including special needs children, group home kids, High school students in AP classes, and Dyslexic children. My comments on tutoring Flute : I played the flute from 5th grade to 10th grade in high school. I still remember most of what I learned.

I just recently graduated California State University with a degree in Liberal Studies. Within this degree I chose to emphasize on mathematics because I want to become a high school math teacher. I have taken every course from Algebra-Intermediate Calculus. I am highly experienced in Algebra 1 and Geometry. I have been working at a probation school for a year and a half with at risk middle school and high school students. One of my many obligations is to help my students in math. I mainly tutor my students in Algebra 1 and Geometry.
I feel that positive reinforcement and patience are two very valuable traits when it comes to teaching. I work hard to ensure that I demonstrate these traits when working with my students.
