Instead of making corrections for them, it was our writing center's policy to insist that each student held their own pen and made their own corrections. We would engage in discussion and challenge them to spot their own mistakes, acting as an invisible hand guiding them towards the knowledge that would serve them throughout their academic career instead of us becoming a quick fix for the present tense.
